Sounds easy right? It can be complicated. Is it an opening bid? Overcall? Response? We cover Stayman, Crawling Stayman, and transfers.
We take a student through how to recognize a slam potential, cue bidding, and key-card responses.
We deal hands, Bid them, Play them, then Score them. We recap and reinforce BPC over and over to reinforce the competitive nature of duplicate bridge.
We take pre-made hands, and then discuss as a group possible responses to partner's openings.
We go over the basics and mechanics of duplicate play and how it is scored differently than party bridge.
The student then will play several boards to get the feel of duplicate. Lastly, the student will be invited to attend a mentor/mentee duplicate game (where an experienced duplicate player will be teamed with a new duplicate player; rules are relaxed with the focus is on fun!!!)
If you used to play duplicate but life took you away from the game and now you want back into it, this is the session for you. We introduce you to the basic conventions and newer "stuff" happening in the bridge world.
We take a student from square 1 to duplicate play. It is done over 8 hours, broken into 4, two hour sessions.
