The Bridge Academy of Flower Mound, Lewisville, and Coppell forms perfectly the acronym BAFLAC. BAFLAC was founded on the principle of providing a comfortable place to play competitive (sanctioned by ACBL) duplicate bridge AND to offer lessons for beginners and the more seasoned players.
We wanted a place easy to find, offer plenty of close parking, and an open feel where all would feel welcome – and we think we achieved that by finding the nice location that we have today.
BAFLAC was founded by author Dr. Darrel VanDyke, who has been playing bridge for over 45 years. After retiring from his life in the computer industry, he wanted to refocus on his interest in bridge once again. His partner, Carolyn Henderson, has been playing for a fair number of years also, but only recently has gotten exposed to the competitive atmosphere of ACBL tournaments and ACBL sanctioned play. (In only a few months she has achieved the rank of Club Master!)
As they readied themselves to bring BAFLAC into the world, both Darrel and Carolyn became certified ACBL certified bridge instructors and ACBL certified club Directors.
